Entertainment Accountant

Chain of Broadway theatres seeks an accountant to work in our accounting department. People and communication skills are a vital part of our organization.



The job responsibilities include tasks such as recording daily/weekly/monthly accounting data into our accounting software (Great Plains/Dynamics), entering, generating and reconciling daily/weekly concessions activity in excel, bank reconciliations, preparing and maintaining various accounting and management reports and spreadsheets, assisting in inventory and cash counts, assisting in the monthly/quarterly closing process, assisting the payroll manager with completing unemployment forms, recalculating broker commissions, and organizing and filing various payroll and other accounting records. Other responsibilities will include assisting the accounts payable, weekly settlement and payroll processing, data entry, supporting the accounting staff including the Chief Financial Officer, and various other accounting and administration tasks, as necessary.



This position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent organization skills. We are looking for an energetic person willing to take on new tasks and has a positive attitude.

The position will also require you to interface with several other individuals from the accounting and other departments in the organization, but ultimately reports to the Chief Financial Officer.



Qualified applicants will possess the following qualities/skills: Accounting/finance/bookkeeping background required. Administration experience a +. Accounting/finance degree a +. Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, trustworthy, and reliable a must. Good communication and organization skills required. Must be computer proficient in Word, Excel, and other accounting software packages. Great Plains/Dynamics experience a +. Advanced computer skills a ++.



This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate and/or someone enthusiastic about becoming a part of the exciting theatre environment. This is by no means a typical accounting/office position. Only personable, enthusiastic, serious candidates should apply.



Salary will range from $30,000-$35,000 plus a discretionary bonus annually, based on prior experience and qualifications. The position offers full benefits including health, dental, and life insurance coverage as well as various other benefits, perks and privileges.
