Director of Revenue Recognition

The Revenue Accounting Manager will streamline systems and processes, enhance reporting by generating metrics and value-added analyses, and implement a Sarbanes-Oxley compliant system of internal controls. In addition, he/she will scale revenue operations in a seamless manner to accommodate future growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in revenue recognition within the software industry and be familiar with various licensing models and channel strategies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage worldwide revenue process, including contract administration, billing, cash applications and collections for multiple revenue streams Review and approve all contracts for proper revenue recognition; monitor business deals that have the potential to impact revenue recognition Track all activities related to agreements and amendments with customers. Generate metrics and value-added analyses of financial data for senior management Identify and implement improvements to streamline monthly close process Develop and enhance SOX compliant internal controls Maintain multiple revenue forecasting models to facilitate business decision-making Maintain documentation to support technical basis for revenue recognition and perform analysis in support of financial statement audits Develop working knowledge of the financial applications and implement improvements to ensure scalability Effectively manage and develop staff, ensuring that they are motivated and empowered to maximize performance and maintain high morale Support various special projects, as requested

 

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting with six to ten years of related experience Prior management experience in a multi-national, growth-oriented technology company CPA with extensive knowledge of and experience with GAAP, with specific focus on revenue recognition issues related to the software industry Proven analytical skills and solid business experience Outstanding interpersonal, communication, business partnering, and managerial skills are essential Intelligence, confidence, self-motivation, and energy
