Director of Credit

This Director of Credit position will direct and coordinate credit department activities including conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts. This position will report to the VP Finance in Chicago.

 

Responsibilities:

 Direct the credit, collection and invoicing functions to ensure adherence to financial policies, GAAP and cash flowsCreate and maintain credit and collection policies and procedures Establish and regularly review customer credit limits, including approval processes for exceptionsRecommend and obtain approval for uncollectible account write-offs in accordance with documented policiesReview customer payment Direct and perform collection efforts for problem accountsReconcile balance sheet accounts for multiple departments on a monthly basisRecommend changes as necessary to accurately reflect the current financial positionOvernight travel will be required to various locations

 

Requirements:

 BS/BA degree in finance or accountingMinimum 5 years experience in Credit Management and Collections, with supervisory capacitySAP experience preferredAbility to follow-up and communicate effectively with all levels of staffAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers and the general publicExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentCommitment to "internal client" and customer service principlesAbility to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentThorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
