Director of Accounting-Vendor Programs (Delray Beach, FL)
Job Responsibilities The Director of Accounting-Vendor Programs will review and approve the vendor program income budget and forecast, department budget, variance analysis, reserve requirements, vendor repayments and financial audit submissions. Recommends the program rates to be used to accrue & recognize program income and reserves. Maintains the integrity of the vendor program balance sheet and income statement for approximately 50 general ledger accounts (i.e. account reconciliation review, vendor collections and negotiation, and variance analysis). Builds and maintains open communications with OD Merchandising Management, Staff and Outside Vendors. Conducts ongoing training for the merchants on the vendor funded application and proper policies and procedures. Analyzes results and identifies ways to increase the profitability of the company through Vendor Programs, while increasing efficiency, minimizing risk. Defines process changes, system enhancements, new systems, etc. i.e. automating a manual process, increasing financial controls and ultimately decreasing G&A costs, increasing Cash Flow by identifying areas of opportunity through changing the metrics used to manage the business. Reviews and approves Vendor Program changes in policy and procedures, SOX controls and narratives, including the security narratives relative to the Vendor Funded Application and the Collections database. Ensures the key controls are in place and being followed. Coordinates internal and external audits. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree required, MBA and/or CPA is preferred. 7 - 10 years experience with Controller type cash managing, AP, AR, finance, general accounting inclusive of revenue recognition, coupled with the ability to lead and manage a team. Experience in reviewing and interpreting terms and finance sections of contracts. International experience, a plus. Strong knowledge of GAAP and Revenue Recognition (SAB 104, EITF 00-21, EITF 02-16). Strong accounting or controller type background. Thorough understanding of GAAP and SOX requirements, identifies where the key controls are to secure the appropriateness of the recognition of income, receivables and maintain the cash inflows. Strong business law experience to properly interpret the financial terms agreed to by the vendors and OD.
