POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Director of Accounting will report directly to the Corporate Controller and coordinate the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports. This individual will assist in the development of internal control procedures to encourage the efficient operation of world wide accounting operations.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate monthly close and financial reporting package for domestic and international companies.Supervise, direct and provide leadership for General Accounting, Financial Reporting, International Reporting and Cost Accounting functions.Prepare financial reports and analysis as necessary to identify trends, ensure data integrity and provide key information to management.Liaise with foreign subsidiary teams to coordinate and direct monthly close and financial reporting cycles. Assist and direct the coordination of year-end audit and quarterly annual reports with external auditors.Ensure the day-to-day accounting transactions are properly recorded.Develop, propose, actively participate and drive departmental and organizational goals and objectives.Responsible for and coordinate full general ledger account reconciliation.Analyze current accounting policies/procedures (US GAAP) and ensure that all structures are appropriately documented and executed.  Actively participate in and drive system/procedural changes where necessary.Experience with cost accounting, manufacturing and foreign currency translation methods beneficial.Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships throughout organization.Coach, develop and mentor accounting staff.DEGREE OF SUPERVISIONThis position should be able to work independently while maintaining professional communication with direct supervisor. EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONCPA or MBA required4-year degree in accounting or finance required.

 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting experience.Public accounting experience with “Big-4â€� preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, FASB pronouncements, EITFs etc.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
