Director/Managing Director Accounting Policy

Summary

We have an immediate need for a Director/Managing Director Accounting Policy. An exciting position that requires experience in Public Accounting/Accounting policy work and you must have SEC 10K 10Q SEC policy.

 

Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop accounting policies that comply with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that relate to newly-executed transactions and/or that are prompted by the company’s adoption of new accounting standards. Monitor and report upon the standard setting activities of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other domestic standard setting bodies. Provide technical accounting support to the Controller’s Office in connection with the implementation of various changes in operational accounting policies and procedures that are prompted as a result of either the adoption of new accounting standards or as a result of newly-executed transactions. Assist the Senior Director-Accounting Policy in advancing various project-based initiatives that are directed at enhancing the infrastructure-related capabilities (e.g., reporting) of the Accounting Policy Group.

 

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to problem solve complex accounting issues. Problem solving ability. Technical Accounting competency. Ability to communicate complex issues and analysis in simple terms. Must have understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting policies.

 

Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting Must be a CPA Minimum of eight years of experience in the accounting profession. Financial services experience preferred.
