Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Contact Information Job Description Director, Corporate Tax This Director, Corporate Tax will be responsible for recommending and implementing Evergreen Solar's corporate tax structure and policy so as to minimize the tax liability of the organization. You will also responsible for determining the application of tax law on the domestic and international operations of the Company. This position is also responsible for all areas of tax including corporate income tax, sales and use tax, property tax and annual report filings. Additional responsibilities include providing tax advice for transaction initiatives (merger, acquisition, partnership) including tax due diligence, contract review and corporate structuring. This position manages compliance with necessary U.S. and International tax statutes and regulations including overseeing the preparation and filing of tax returns and related reports. Develops, implements and monitors tax strategies including FAS 109, corporate filings and audits. Develops, implements and monitors global tax strategies. Recommends to management methods to minimize the Corporation's tax liability consistent with applicable tax laws and Company objectives. Reviews proposed financial transactions in their formative stages and advises or proposes changes to achieve the best tax results. Advises Management of impending changes in the tax law and the potential impact of such tax laws and related decisions, regulations and rulings. Manages the completion of Company U.S. and foreign tax returns, filings and related reports, including ensuring the timely preparation and filing of federal and state income taxes, franchise and property tax returns. Oversees efforts to ensure international tax compliance in conjunction with the needs and objectives of all companies and subsidiaries, foreign and domestic. Directs audits relating to income taxes, sales and use tax and property tax. Oversees internal or external staff working on audits. Employs outside professional firms in tax matters when appropriate. Manages and administers worldwide tax services including research, planning and compliance. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 8+ years of corporate tax experience. A Masters in Taxation and CPA is also required. Previous experience managing multiple projects and the ability to communicate with senior level management is required. Duties of this position require an advanced level of knowledge in Federal, State, International and Foreign Tax laws and the ability to use this knowledge towards minimizing corporate tax liability.
