DIRECTOR - CREDIT & ANALYSIS
Our client, a $2 billion, international leader in their space, has a newly-created Director of Credit & Analysis position. Located in the Northwest Suburbs, they are a very well-regarded, well-run and technologically forward, Microsoft Beta company.
Reports To: Sr. Director
Direct Reports: 2 - 3 Financial Analysts
Overall Scope:Default ModelingReserve CalculationsCreating Default CurvesCredit Risk Assessment
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Develping, implementing, and administering the company’s newly-created lending policies and proceduresDeveloping and maintaining complex business and financial models to estimate lifetime return on loan/payment plan portfoliosWorking with executive leadership in the development and performance monitoring of appropriate credit policy and risk programs based on market and portfolio performanceEnsuring appropriate reserve levels are calculated and maintained for A/R and loan receivablesOverseeing credit review process, data capture and eligibility reportingAnalizing credit origination and monitoring strategies, including alternate strategy effectiveness, for account origination and credit limit managementManaging a small team a financial analysts, providing oversight over daily as well as ad-hoc analysis projectsPreparing reports and presentations for senior management team
Skills/Abilities: Analytical, mathematical, and problem solvingAbility to work, interact and communicate effectively with company schools, outside parties, and sr. managementStrong management, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredHigh ethical standards
Experience/Knowledge:
5 - 10 overall professional experience, including 4-6 years credit risk experience requiredDemonstrated ability in quantitative analysis/policy and a good working knowledge of lending and credit risk analysis Hands-on statistical modeling /loss-rate calculation experience strongly preferred!Knowledge and understanding of unsecured consumer debt and/or student loans and applicable lawsKnowledge of current lending environment Management experience Experience with credit reporting bureaus and credit reports a plusStrong orientation towards high-volume, fast-paced, time sensitive business operationsExcellent skills in Excel, MS Access, and VBA programming a plus
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or a related field or equivalent experienceMBA preferred
