Credit and Portfolio Risk Manager

Annual/interim credit reviews of new and existing ‘product-managed’ counterparties, including establishing PSE limits and setting credit terms; interfacing with clients/business units on capital markets products; structuring transactions; negotiating documentation, and reviewing legal, compliance and regulatory issues. Proactive identification of deterioration of client’s risk stature & initiation of remedial management action, as necessary, to secure Firm’s interest. Interface with GRB/GPM on Derivatives products: advise on complex derivative structures; assist in defining and understanding PSE and in structuring credit exposure mitigants; assist in legal negotiations; generally track higher risk credits and support Relationship Managers in managing exposure in capital markets (both fixed income and equity) products. Demonstrate and maintain effective knowledge of GCIB Credit Policies and procedures; Administer GCC Sponsored Corporate Credit Programs per GCIB policies. Complex credit analysis and approval as well as interfacing with senior management, traders and sales teams. Consultation: Approve & recommend credit terms for products & offer ongoing credit consultation to Relationship Mgrs, Sales & Financial Consultants. Industry or geographic specialization may be required: Corporates, Hedge Funds, Special Purpose Vehicles, Financial Institutions, Latin America Good technical credit analysis skills and the ability to provide some of the big picture to junior analysts. Demonstrated aptitude for tackling analytical questions through quantitative modeling and the analysis and manipulation of large data elements. Ability to meet deadlines created due to business needs. Thorough understanding of the various risks within the counterparty portfolio for which unit has responsibility. Strong product knowledge required: working knowledge of the purpose and types of traded and derivative products, including credit, equity, total return, interest rate and cross currency swaps. Solid understanding of Policies and Procedures impacting the Credit Risk mgmt framework. Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present analysis and recommendation in a succinct manner. Sound risk and business judgment on the full spectrum of risk issues including franchise risk. Independent problem solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics preferred. 5-10 years credit risk experience. An MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred and formal Credit Training is a plus. Technology proficient. Ability to conduct onsite due diligence visits with salespeople or relationship managers. Knowledge of various Capital Markets and derivative products and associated documentation.
