ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Prepare and support budget and forecast documentation and follow-up in collaboration with department managers.• Prepare and analyze sales profitability by division, customer, and product line in conjunction with issuance of corporate financial statements. Support monthly and yearly close process.• Prepare and analyze operating expenses by cost center (Actual vs. Budget) in conjunction with issuance of corporate financial statements. Support monthly and yearly close process.• Prepare and support financial reporting to the Group.• Support pricing team with financial information as well as “Customer Sales Agreement�.• Prepare monthly reconciliation of actual and standard costs. Analyze and explain any significant or unusual variances. Support factory management in cost analysis studies.• Maintain product standard and actual costing for manufactured items, including managing all supporting spreadsheets and databases relevant to current standard cost system. • Review inventory costing to ensure accuracy and reconcile to general ledger and support ongoing analysis to highlight slow moving stocks in order to facilitate changes in purchasing pattern and/or rationalization of products.• Ensure necessary internal controls exist within cost accounting system to support accurate information and safeguarding of assets.• Participate in financial analysis for capital expenditures and manage expense, as needed, in support of capital projects. • Provide and support ongoing product line analysis and review for management evaluation.• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• Knowledge of cost accounting practices in a manufacturing environment.• Technical skills in account reconciliation, financial statements, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities, etc. • Must have strong computer skills including knowledge of computer financial applications and proficiency in Word and Access. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.• Requires effective oral/presentation and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.• Interpersonal and team skills with ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required.• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.• Knowledge of metric system a plus. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE• 1-3 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • Budgeting experience preferred.• SAP, Business Objects, BW and Hyperion software experience is a plus. ERP experience is preferred.
