Corporate Staff Accountant

As Staff Accountant, this is an opportunity for someone with solid accounting and analytical skills; an excellent team player who can provide account analysis, reconciliation, and control.  This role in Headquarters will report to the Manager of Reporting and Consolidations.

 

Key Characteristics:

As a key member of the headquarters Controller function, this position requires a self-starter with a solid accounting base, who can identify and complete work in a highly dynamic and independent environment.  The ideal candidate will make a contribution to the development of the finance group, while always searching for process improvement opportunities.  Experience with an integrated ERP system environment, particularly JD Edwards, is preferred.

 

Principle Accountabilities:

 

· Balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations

· Head office fixed cost analysis

· Daily sales reconciliation

· Standard month end journal entries

· Fixed asset review

· Interaction with Shared Services centralized accounting office

· Audit support

· Monthly consolidation

· Special projects

 

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate for this position will have…

· 2 – 5 years of experience – staff level accountant or financial analyst.

· BS in Accounting

· Specific knowledge of month end accounting, reconciliation, and analysis

· Strong analytical skills for problem solving and process improvement

· Specific technical knowledge of JD Edwards a plus (or has worked with similar ERP systems – SAP, etc.), MS Excel experience a must.  Hyperion Financial Management System experience is a plus.

· Good communication skills both written and verbal

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Uses common sense, pragmatic thinking and possesses necessary analytical skills for problem solving and data interpretation purposes
