Corporate Accounting Supervisor (3175)

Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities As a direct report to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, the Corporate Accounting Supervisor will be primarily responsible to lead, direct, mentor and champion a team of senior to staff accountants in executing daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly general accounting processes. Candidate will be a strategic player of corporate finance management group, driving corporate development. In addition, other responsibilities include analyzing monthly financials, oversee top-level review of corporate general ledgers and the accounting department GL close process, as well as ensuring SOX and internal control compliance. Specific responsibilities of the Corporate Accounting Supervisor included, but not limited to: Experience candidate will possess a strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX controls to successfully perform and ensure conformity to GAAP and SOX compliance in all general accounting tasks. Supervisor of various corporate accounting functions. Manage the day-to-day operations of 3 – 10 staff accounts and/or functions support staff, acting as reviewer of certain GL account reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP. Role will be an integral party of corporate finance management group, driving corporate development based on business needs. This would include participation on steering committees that were designed to implement tools to processes that will improve finance processing and accounting. Manage and review work of staff. Day-to-day mentor and technical advisor to more junior staff with respect to GAAP principals and SEC reporting requirements for transactions in those respective areas. In additions, will be a resource for technical accounting memos on non-routine transactions to ensure compliance, completions and/or review of certain procedures of 404 control documentations related to areas supervised. Assist in preparation of certain audit schedules, SEC supporting schedules and/or internal management reports. May assist in coordination of monthly closes.
