Controller: hands-on position

Position: Controller

Location: Dallas, TX

Salary Range: 70k – 90k

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide accounting support to Senior Accounting Managers and Operations.
• Supervision of assigned accounting staff, including Sales and Cash entry staff, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. Supervision includes counseling, motivating and training employees, including providing cross-training opportunities to ensure coverage during vacations and absence, and prepare performance appraisals.

• Monthly closing processes including general ledgers.
• Preparation and/or review and approval of general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Preparation of and /or review of monthly/quarterly/annual unit work paper binders, including any required consolidations or reports
• Preparation of and /or review of annual operating unit budgets.
• Detail understanding of all systems and procedures utilized by departments or divisions including Daily Cash, Sales, etc. data entry processes, utilizing Great Plains, Microsoft office, Micros or other software as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting REQUIRED.
• Three years experience in accounting/financial reporting (multi-entity environment preferred)
• Ability to understand and prepare financial statements and related work papers
• CPA certification a big plus
• Great Plains software experience a plus.
