Job Description Controller Controller – Madison FactoryPosition will be a key member of the operations management team and key business partner of Director of Operations of a $170m business based in Madison, Wisconsin. Successful candidate will be one that can demonstrate experience in effectively partnering with supply chain and manufacturing management to maintain an effective control environment, implementation of lean accounting, proactively manage working capital and provide value added decision support. Position will also be responsible for all management reporting and decision support analysis requirements related to monthly/quarterly business reviews and annual operating plans.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements Preparation of monthly, quarterly financial forecast and budgets Analysis and interpretation of financial results for the guidance of the management Provide general direction to accounting staff 3 and 2 senior financial analysts Management of GL accounting and cost accounting Perform complex accounting work requiring full professional competency, i.e: accounting related to inventory costing/methods Analyze financial results of specific areas or results of special projects; presents results to appropriate levels of management Perform various close responsibilities Manage external and internal audit requirements Identify and lead the various productivity enhancement and variance reduction efforts for the operation utilizing the PPI processes of ThermoFisher.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree in Accounting plus 4 or more years of accounting experience, CPA or CMA, MBA preferred Strong Cost Accounting experience and Lean Accounting understanding or experienceKnowledge, Skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential functions:Demonstrated very good written and verbal communication skills Computer skills, including spreadsheets and financial sub-systems Strong Cost Accounting experience Lean/Six Sigma/process improvement certification, experience Demonstrated SAP experience and Hyperion Demonstrated ability to influence organization thru analysis and decision support Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Education: BachelorsJob Level: Manager
