Pay Minimum:  

Salary negotiable depending on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:  

Bachelors Degree or Major in Accounting is required.  Must complete degree no later than 12/31/08.  GPA must be 3.0 or better.

Desired Qualifications:  

Very good to excellent written and oral communication skills; experience which includes: auditing project expenditures to ensure compliance with federal government and university requirements; assisting with budget preparation and review; financial report and billing preparation and/or review; computer skills which include proficient use of: Windows and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access software.  

Job Summary:  

Will review faculty proposals to outside funding agencies, including proposal solicitations, primarily from the federal government; review budget variables and calculations; review contracts, including the legal language incorporated and prepares qualifying acceptance letters, as needed; will audit expenditures associated with sponsored projects; prepare and/or review financial statements and billings; compose correspondence frequently to MSU internal and external sources; prepare and monitor subcontracts. Duties associated with this position involve working on a video display terminal (computer) up to 70 percent of the time.
