The Team



The Internal Audit team in PwC's Risk practice delivers a variety of solutions to strengthen clients' risk management and internal control capabilities. This includes advisory services to enhance the focus and value of an existing internal audit or risk management function, to full outsourcing, co-sourcing or strategic sourcing of an internal audit function. Within Alberta, our Edmonton and Calgary Internal Audit teams work closely together to add value to our public and private sector clients within Western Canada. This dynamic also creates opportunities for our staff to work with different teams and with clients across a variety of industries



Requirements:



- Strong commitment to providing excellence in client service and a demonstrated ability to produce high quality results;

- Strong interpersonal skills are required to assist less experienced personnel and to build working relationships with clients;

- Team player - demonstrated ability to successfully work within a dynamic team environment;

- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritizes activities, and manages personal time (ie. Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously);

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, including demonstrated comfort making oral presentations and for preparing clear and concise project reports;

- Strong technical and auditing skills;

- Internal audit / compliance experience;

- Risk assessment and evaluation of controls experience;

- Financial audit and Operational audit;

- Assisted in developing test plans/programs (controls evaluation and substantive testing); and

- Executed test plans



Qualifications:



- Accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) an asset;

- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) - attained, in-progress, or willingness to pursue shortly after commencing employment;

- Minimum 2-4 years experience in internal auditing / internal controls (SOX, NI 52-109);

- Related practical experience in the public sector and other related local industries (eg. Financial services, healthcare); and

- Strong hands on experience with internal audit working practices (project planning, execution and reporting) and SOX / NI-52-109, including related documentation requirements / assessments (performing walkthroughs, testing)
