Job Summary:
The Tax Technology Consultant (Consultant) provides tax automation services to Fortune 1000 clients by performing detail requirements analysis, process design, configuration, and implementation of tax automation business and system processes for enterprise applications; as well as works with a team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients and to gain an understanding of how the client computes each component of the sales and use tax. This includes researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations.
Duties and Responsibilities:Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.Travels to client locations to gather and copy tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation to use in the audit refund process.Reviews documentation and researches issues.Works with raw data to complete calculations.Analyzes existing business and system processes and provides recommendations with regard to the implementation of tax automation.Implements sales and use tax automation software and assists with day-to-day project management duties.Uses computerized spreadsheets, relational databases, word processing software, and computer programming software.Creates, composes, and edits written materials.Processes computer data to format and generate reports.Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance required. One to three years audit or tax related experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Work Environment:Independent travel requirement: 30 to 40%.
