Bring your talent and motivation, and we’ll provide you the means for success.The National Property Tax Practice is currently looking for a Complex Property Compliance Analyst.Responsibilities:Timely and accurate filing of multiple returns and tax bill processing for various clients and propertiesMaintain assessment information and property records in client files and computer systemUnderstand states assigned for due dates, payment dates, assessment ratios, collection entities (county, city, school, etc.) and other important tax collection issuesAnalyze company financials and file returns on various property types to appropriate assessment authoritiesEnsure that all individually assigned returns and group assigned returns are timely and accurately filedAnalyze value notices for possible appeals and communicate with assessors directlyAssist in the negotiation of value settlements and file appeals when necessary Provide support in preparation of attending formal and informal hearings and presenting evidence supporting value positions when necessary Support clients in litigation efforts if requestedAggressively seek all possible value reductions and tax savingsCommunicate with clients professionally regarding assessed values and property tax accrualsCommunicate and coordinate tax management efforts with other employees to completely satisfy all of our client’s tax management needsAnalyze tax bills for accuracy and reconciliation to rendered and settled valuationsResolve incorrect tax statements and process all bills in a timely and accurate manner for client payments either directly or via check writing servicesProvide an exemplary level of service, with integrity, to fellow team members and clients that ensures total client satisfactionUnderstand and follow office proceduresRequirements:Background or knowledge in the assessment of utilities and related entities, real estate appraisal, personal property appraisal, business valuation, and value settlement/negotiationsAssessment, bookkeeping and accounting experience or education is helpfulAbility to accurately analyze and understand company financial statements in relation to balance sheets, income statements and fixed asset records Ability to work independently, take direction, communicate with other staff, and coordinate internal procedures to provide exemplary service to clientsStrong organizational skillsAbility to accomplish all tasks within stated deadlinesExcellent communication skills with clients, management and staffManagement skills to supervise assigned staff as needed Duff & Phelps is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment.
