Commercial Underwriter

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for analyzing and underwriting credit requests that originate from the Relationship Manager and/or the Business Development Officer.  As part of the "Deal Team", the incumbent works with these individuals to obtain the information necessary for the underwriting process, preparing the credit approval memorandum and submitting the credit request for formal approval.  The incumbent may also assist in the renewal process of existing credits and will also be involved in special projects as requested by senior management. Education/Experience/Qualifications: The required qualifications are: Bachelors Degree, Formal Credit Training and a minimum of 3-5 years of Credit/Commercial Lending experience preferably in the asset-based-lending area. Location: This position will either be located in Iselin, NJ or Philadelphia, PA. To apply to this position: Please go to www.sovereignbank.com, select the “About Sovereignâ€� tab, and then select the “Careersâ€� tab.
