Summary 

Supervises the administrative affairs of the Firm

 

1.  Internal accounting, financial & operational reporting.  Includes budgeting & cash management.

 

2.  Monitor overall profitability.  Done by analyzing financial & operating reports, identifying areas holding profits back, monitoring productivity of firm personnel and the firm’s efforts at keeping staff properly utilized, monitoring realization and challenging write-offs, collections and cost control.

 

3.  Staff and HR.  Point person for all firm recruiting, performance evaluation, salary admin, training, CPE documentation, new employee orientation & benefit administration.

 

4.  Partner issues.  Works closely with the Managing Partner and the Partner Group.  This entails attending all partner meetings and retreats, planning agendas for partner meetings and monitoring achievement of the firm’s strategic plan.

 

5.  Manages most of the firm’s systems, especially time and billing and scheduling.

 

6.  Technology, especially computer systems, internet & email issues, telephones.

 

7.  Admin issues, including office equipment, space planning, high-level landlord issues, purchasing, policies & procedures creation & enforcement & supervision of the admin staff.

 

8.  Property/casualty, benefit and malpractice insurance.

 

9.  Marketing coordination and support.  Primarily, the administrative aspects of the firm’s marketing such as coordination of newsletters, brochures, web site, client seminars, direct mail campaigns, open houses and maintaining the firm’s client/prospect/referral source data base. 

 

Salary 90K +

 

Position Requirements:

Ø Bachelor’s Degree  

Ø 5 plus years current or recent experience as a firm administrator required.

Ø Excellent Project Management skills

Ø A dedication to teamwork and leadership

Ø A successful record of directing and deploying staff

Ø Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
