Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Small Public Medical Device Company

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer at our headquarters located in Rolling Hills Estates, California to support our continued growth.

 

The CFO is directly responsible for the financial health of the company, and is primarily responsible for managing the financial analysis, budgeting, productivity, and decision support reporting functions for company finances. The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and performs a variety of analyses and produces key analytical reports, and is primarily responsible for the following:   Accountable for the accuracy of all company accounting information. Prepare SEC and all public filings in a timely and accurate manner. Interface with Public Accounting Firm for auditing and other regulatory filings. Develop and maintain controls and procedures. Monitor SOX compliance. Develop reporting methodologies to ensure the financial health of the company is monitored and communicated to the CEO in an accurate and timely manner. Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies. Establish and provide goals for the accounting, Fiscal and Information Technology Departments and audit operations. Interface with the Company's securities attorney to assure all contracts, disclosures and public announcements are SEC compliant. The CFO is responsible for total and complete compliance with all SEC requirements, and will perform oversight being sure all required controls are in place. Establish and maintain solid relationships with financial institutions to assure funding needs are addressed. Work with banks and/or investment bankers to raise additional capital as required for expansion.



The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing the company's organizational and operational planning to achieve profitable operations and provide protective internal audit and operating controls. The CFO also analyzes company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be strengthened, and assures that a positive work environment is present and facilitates open communication and sharing of information and ideas.

 

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE Experience working in a public company environment. Experience in SEC filings and familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Experience in corporate acquisitions, due diligence, and necessary steps to complete M&A activities. Bachelor degree required in business administration, economics, accounting, finance. Graduate training desirable. 10 years work experience in the financial arena, with the most current being at the "top management" level in a public company environment. Analytical nature, excellent skills in accounting, supervision and management. Multi-task orientation; works well under pressure; prioritizes and produces within deadlines. Proven ability to develop and motivate personnel. Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
