Our U.S. Financial Shared Services Center in Southfield, Michigan is looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager experienced in large-scale and fast-paced corporate financial environments.  This is a truly challenging and rewarding position, complete with a comprehensive benefits package and yearly bonus structure.

 

Business Unit Accounting Manager



The BU Accounting Manager’s primary responsibility is managing the accounting activity for the Business Unit in the EnterpriseOne General Ledger.  The incumbent leads the staff to execute their work in compliance with IFRS and LNA accounting policies and control procedures.  This includes responsibility for development of subordinates’ capabilities.  Primary duties include month end close, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, audit support and integrity reporting.  The Manager will be managing a team of 12-15 accountants and team leaders, while organizing and implementing the training and development of the team itself.  Other primary responsibilities include; maintaining accuracy of the E-One General Ledger; ensuring all reporting requirements are accurately implemented; developing, implementing and improving processes for changes in the department; assist in the reconciliation of issues as well as opportunities for process improvements; managing the relationships with all business units; meeting or exceeding customer expectations as per company’s vision and goals; identifying and escalating any financial discrepancies and/or issues in a timely and process improvement driven manner; demonstrating a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas; managing all activities from transactional input through financial reporting input; and identify and implement process improvement initiatives to guarantee the best practice accounting is achieved.

 

 

This role is a high-profile management position.  We are in search of a committed and career-driven incumbent to provide leadership and support to a large team.  Qualified applicants will have a minimum education of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, coupled with their CA, CPA or CMA.  A minimum of 7-10 years experience within a high-volume accounting department or industry is needed, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory position with multiple reports.  Experience in Multi-company/Legal entity Reporting environment is a requirement, along with a demonstrated and successful track record in a leadership capacity.  Strong familiarity with IFRS and Sarbanes Oxley requirements is an asset, along with HFM and JD Edwards/PeopleSoft ERP Systems.  The successful candidate will have very strong communication skills along with their exemplary organizational skills and high energy.
