Collect and enter all required information to prepare financial statements and management reports 2. Set up and maintain the customer, vendor, equipment, loan, leases and employee files 3. Reconcile the bank account(s). 4. Print a trial balance and check to see that the balances listed on the trial balance for all of the asset and liability accounts are correct when compared to other information. 5. Prepare any monthly tax returns such as sales tax returns or payroll deposits and filings 6. Prepare the quarterly payroll tax returns (form 941 and state unemployment tax returns) if the records you are working with are for a quarter end month. 7. Prepare accurate details of job costing projects and report the analysis to management on a timely basis. 8. When the bookkeeping work is complete, the bookkeeper should print the reports and compile them in the format and folders set forth in the firm's procedure on printing and compiling bookkeeping reports. 9. The bookkeeper must be responsible for seeing that all bookkeeping files are kept neat and current. 10. Maintain the files for policies and procedures within the department. 11. Perform other duties as assigned by the management. 12. Write weekly battle plan. 13. Graph own statistics. 14 Train personnel assisting with bookkeeping functions, perform reviews of personnel and recommendations on advancement. 15. Prepare financial statements in accordance with management reporting desires. 16. Communicate recommendations on financial transactions 17. Keep information for outside CPA such as new fixed asset invoices, agreements, sales of assts, and transactions with tax consequences. 19.Establish and maintain accounting systems for the firm's clients. 20. Train the assistant bookkeeper. 21. Perform other duties as assigned by the owner. 22. Prepare analysis and recommendations with asset purchases. 23. Assist with financial reporting requirements of bank lending 24. Maintain tape backup of all financial data 25. Assist or prepare reports for governmental reporting requirements.
