Due to our continued growth, Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. is currently adding a Senior Accountant and a Manager to it's Government Services Practice in Columbus. Our Government Services practice has more than 20 years of experience finding answers to challenges common to state and local governments, social services boards and school districts. Our experience allows us to go deeper than traditional audits and GAAP conversions to help government organizations find and change situations that are lowering performance or raising costs. Our breadth of services range from tax planning, audit and compliance services to school performance audits and tax levy evaluations.
Job Description:
The Government Services Senior Accountant and Manager positions will be the leading providers of proactive audit and compliance services for a diverse group of government and not-for-profit clients. The Government Services Manager will deliver or manage phases of client engagements for government and not-for-profit clients from our Columbus office; may have primary client responsibility and, in some cases, may be assigned to manage a department. He/she may be called upon to deliver presentations and to write articles and to provide leadership, supervision, training and performance feedback to Senior and Staff level Accountants. Travel to and working from regional and local client sites will be required.
Required Experience:
• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance; post graduate or MBA degrees preferred
• CPA certification strongly preferred; must be CPA exam eligible
• Minimum 2-5 yrs progressive experience in accounting; government or not for profit auditing experience strongly preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of internal or external audit experience required
• Strong organizational, client service and computer skills required
• Experience serving clients in government entities, school districts and not-for-profit organizations highly desired
