Associate Tax Accountant #63447 Position Description Assist in preparing tax returns including personal property, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax reports and provide support on audit of these returns. Prepare account reconciliation and provide assistance in developing, improving and documenting compliance procedures. Respond to offsite tax departments and customer service requests. Perform research for product and customer taxability, changes in law, etc. Position Responsibilities •  Reconcile sales and use tax data and prepare and file sales and use tax returns using Vertex Quantum Returns software.   •  Prepare personal property tax returns including reviewing asset classification and personal property tax reporting requirements in multiple jurisdictions. •  Prepare and file business license reports and gross receipts tax returns. •  Respond to customer service requests concerning customer exemption certificates, product taxability and provide ongoing support to customer service and accounts receivable departments. •  Perform sales tax research and maintain Vertex Tax Decision Maker for product tax decisions. •  Provide assistance as needed for sales, use and property tax audits including identifying opportunities for refund. •  Assist with projects as requested including account reconciliations, refund requests, SAP implementation project. Basic Qualifications •  Four year degree in accounting or business •  1 - 3 years sales and property tax experience Desired/Preferred Qualifications Preferred: •  3 – 5 years experience •  SAP •  VertexDesired: •  Strong PC Skills •  Working knowledge of accounting systems   •  Working knowledge of tax return software •  Strong analytical skills •  Excellent oral and written skills •  Good organizational skills •  Good decision making and problem solving skills •  Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a matrix organization Physical Job Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
