Associate / Senior Associate, Internal Audit

We are currently seeking an Internal Audit Associate/Senior Associate to join us in our Des Moines office. Internal Audit Risk and Compliance (IARCS) Services professionals help organizations enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of critical in-house governance, internal audit and compliance functions. IARC professionals, focused on internal audit, help strengthen/supplement client internal audit functions across industries primarily through strategic sourcing. They also perform risk assessments and risk-based operational, financial and compliance audits of key business processes. Responsibilities for both positions: * Project a professional image of KPMG * Provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of internal audit engagements and special projects * Assist in preparing risk assessments, audit plan programs and internal audit reports * Work on project teams focused on compliance or advisory projects * Serve a variety of clients within the Insurance industry Additional Responsibility for Senior Associate: * Develop, train and mentor staff Qualifications for both positions: * One year of current and/or recent audit experience at the advisory level, with a focus on the Insurance industry * BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business or a related major * Willing and able to travel with relatively short notice * Willing to work the hours necessary to meet client deadlines * Strong analytical and writing skills * Strong proficiency in basic PC applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a general understanding of data analysis techniques * Ability to be on-site at the client premises approximately 80-90 percent of the time Additional Qualification for Senior Associate: * Three years of current and/or recent audit experience with a focus on the Insurance industry KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
