Assistant Controller for Construction Firm

 

 

 

General Contractor is seeking an Assistant Controller to provide technical and administrative supervision to general accounting personnel, maintain integrity of financial reporting systems; and provide analytical support regarding general ledger and job costs. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment that has a clear understanding of accounting and finance as it applies to the construction industry.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Administer preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting Supervise disbursements of company funds in line with company policy. Plan, organize, and coordinate all activities of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions, to ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices Maintain the General Ledger for the company as well as direct and/or indirect responsibility for all sub-ledgers Enhance customer service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements as as promotion of service oriented approach within all functional responsibilites Coordinate the timely performance of all accounting procedures to accomplish general accounting objectives, i.e., journal entries, closing books, etc. Develop and implement department policies and procedures, initiate corrective measures as required Direct, monitor, and evaluate the activities and performance of Accounting Personnel as needed Coordinates and prepares for financial audits as required by governmental entities or other organizations Keep abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in the profession and make recommendations for implementation

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Business Degree a must

Construction Accounting experience necessary

Experience managing accounting Staff of 5 or more

Expert in Excel and advanced in all MS Office Applications

Well developed management and administrative skills, with proven ability

Well organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
