Assistant Controller

The experience, expertise and commitment of our team has helped us advance our long-standing reputation as producer of the finest specialty cheese and creative culinary solutions to the foodservice, industrial and specialty retail markets.  Because of our continuous growth, we are seeking a self-driven, solutions oriented team player to fill the role of Assistant Controller.  This person will have demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills, the initiative and ability to dig and interpret beyond “numbers�, attention to detail but able to see the big picture.  Essential duties include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. Ensure the integrity and timeliness of accounting reports and other financial information.  This includes monthly closing, financial report preparation, balance sheet management and reviewing general ledger related transactionsCoordinate and organize financial audit processDevelop financial tools for gathering information and analyzing the business impact of various activities and decisionsInterface with other business units to provide financial support for technical and operational projects and business decisions.Ensure compliance with all governmental, banking and GAAP requirementsIdentify and resolve discrepancies within financial transactions processed within the ERP system.  Continually focus on improving the design and utilization of the ERP system for better cost information collection and reporting efficienciesCoordinate, communicate and complete annual budget process, semi-annual business review and monthly budget variance analysis and reportingSupervise A/P, A/R process and provide detailed account structure guidelines for A/P and procurement proceduresCoach, mentor and develop Accounts Payable CoordinatorEnsure proper accounting policies, procedures and internal financial controls are in place

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with five years progressive general or cost accounting experience in addition to in-depth financial information analysis skill and experience.   Strong and advanced PC skill, especially Excel and Access, along with a good understanding of business ERP systems and accounting software also required.  CPA or CMA a plus.
