Asset Liability Manager (ALM) in Port Angeles, WA
Position Description:
The Asset Liability Manager(ALM) will manage the Bank’s modeling of net interest income, net portfolio value, and interest rate risk profile. Manage the Bank’s portfolio of investment securities, as well as wholesale funding sources. Provide support to the CFO, CEO and Senior Management staff with financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and cost/benefit analysis as required to facilitate the accomplishment of First Federal’s strategic goals and objectives. Provide support to both retail and commercial banking units on the pricing of loans and deposits.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field; MBA in related field desired.
Experience:
Typically requires three (3) years of progressively responsible, directly related work experience at a financial institution and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles, investment management, and financial analysis and modeling. Working knowledge of financial institution products, policies, and procedures. Experience using the IPS-Sendero asset/liability model is highly preferred. Prior experience managing securities portfolios, preferrably in a financial institution environment. The incumbent must have the ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of First Federal policies, procedures, and systems. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:
*Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, operating results and forecasts as they affect the Association and make recommendations in support of the Association’s strategic goals
*Strong knowledge of investments, funding strategies and interest rate risk management
*Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
*Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and other financial management applications
