PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To prepare accurate and timely internal financial statements for domestic brands that are used internally to manage the business and externally to report financial results.JOB FUNCTIONS:Period Responsibilities (50%):·Prepare Common Reporting Package, which includes ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information and related commentary, agreement to General Ledger and proper distribution of final report.·Analyze Semis and Labor costs activity against prior period, prior year and forecast.  ·Prepare P schedules with critical focus on proper reporting classifications.  ·Ensure transactions are compliant with GAAP and YUM accounting policies.  ·Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. ·Prepare journal entries and load to general ledger.·Research and respond in a timely manner to adhoc requests from PH Finance team.Quarterly Responsibilities (20%):·Prepare Cost of Labor and Semis sections of MD&A Reporting package used by External Reporting to discuss financial results.  Includes gathering and reviewing data, preparing reporting schedules, explaining significant changes and reviewing the results with PH Finance and PH Brand Reporting Manager.  Requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as exceptional Excel and Hyperion skills.·Prepare Q schedules with a critical focus on proper reporting classifications.  Other Responsibilities (30%):·Provide support to PH Finance and Field personnel regarding inquiries and analysis needed to explain and validate income statement amounts.  Â·Responsible for coordinating annual set-up of repeating and allocating entries and serve as point person for any required changes throughout the year. ·Participate in PH’s semi-annual Balance Sheet review process.  Â·Involved in ad hoc special projects such as clean-up of PH cost center alignment as a result of legal entity reorganization, testing of PeopleSoft upgrade, participating on a cross-brand team to determine how best to analyze COL, review of closed store balance sheet, etc. ·Participate in domestic Sox compliance testing.  Requirements EDUCATION: ·B.S. in Accounting preferred or B.S in Finance, if candidate has significant accounting experience.EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications):  ·4 plus years experience in general accounting, with good working knowledge of key fundamental accounting concepts, is required.·CPA not required, but considered a plus.·Prior experience in Control and exposure to MD&A preferred.·Strong Hyperion, Excel, and Peoplesoft skills are required.·Attention to detail and strong organization skills are required.·Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are key.·Proven analytical skills and an inquisitive mind are critical to success.·Ability to balance workload and drive process improvements and efficiencies is a must.·Must be pro-active, able to handle and prioritize multiple projects, and work independently.·A strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively interface with diverse customer base is required.·Self-starters who are able to work with minimum supervision and possess the above qualifications should apply.
