Accounts Payable Supervisor - Oakland, CA (E)

As an AP Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA, you will supervise approximately 10-15 Accounts Payable employees demonstrating ability to plan, schedule and direct day-to-day activities of union staff. The Supervisor reports to the Buy to Pay Disbursements Services Manager (Accounts Payable Manager)within the Financial Services Operation (FSO). The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the department operations meet processing targets, rigorous quality standards and comply with Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:* Utilize Six Sigma quality metrics to help drive and communicate business decisions. * Provide and maintain superior customer service* Support Six Sigma projects that will ensure continual process improvement.* Reviews account payable ledgers, operational performance metrics and ensure established performance goals are achieved. * Ensures compliance with internal policies/procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements. * Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development and training. * Monitors records of amounts owed and ensure prompt payment of invoices featuring discounts advantageous to the organization. * Directs the activities related to processing of invoices and ensures data quality. * Ensures controls are in place to prevent check computation and distribution errors. * Ensures production standards are being met and continually strives to implement processes to meet best practices. * Partners with the department Supervisors and Managers as well as Leaders of Quality, Procurement, General Accounting, Information Technology, and other teams.Minimum Requirements:* 4+ years accounting, quality, process improvement and managerial level experience. 2 years of which was leading and managing employees within a financial operation. * 2-3 years of high volume accounts payable processing experience* Strong communication and presentation skills. * Must be able to influence positive change in a Labor/Management Partnership environment, i.e., organized labor.* Knowledge of the procurement to payment processes * Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, workflow analysis and internal accounting controls * Familiarity with software applications, databases, and spreadsheets including VISIO, ACCESS, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT and mainframe systemsPreferred Qualifications:* Bachelors degree (BS or BA)emphasis in Accounting, Finance.* Sarbanes Oxley and Six Sigma experience * Previous direct supervisory experience in an organized labor environment* Involvement in systems implementation and/or integration This position consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanentes Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to the applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures.For immediate consideration, please submit your resume online at www.kaiserpermanentejobs.org and create a personal profile.
