Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Objective:

To perform the AP functions in a multi-state and international business and provide other support to ICO’s accounting team as needed.

Responsibilities:

· Perform the Company’s daily payables processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Perform the Company’s weekly time and expense reimbursement processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness

· Oversee cash management and treasury functions for domestic and foreign bank accounts.

· Provide analysis and reporting of data and preparation of reports for period end reporting cycles as well as ad-hoc reporting for Company management.

· Prepare period end accruals within Company procedures and thresholds.

· Monitor A/P ledgers ensuring aged items are researched and resolved.

· Prepare timely and accurate tax filings (1099, sales/VAT tax, etc.) in coordination with Tax Manager as necessary.

· Assist in researching reconciling items.

· Identify and implement process improvements to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved while maintaining appropriate controls.

· Support various audits throughout the year.

· Liaise with external vendors and internal business owners to resolve inquiries.

· Maintain filing system to ensure organization and retention of records within the department.

· Provide back-up assistance for the Company’s bi-monthly payroll process.

· Perform other accounting functions as assigned.

 Minimum Professional and Technical Skills:

· Three years of progressive accounts payable experience

· Strong Excel skills

· Basic knowledge of accounting internal controls

· A/P tax issues (1099, W2, sales/VAT tax, etc.)

· Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

· Experience with general ledger journal entries required

· Flexibility and adaptability to changes inherent in growing company required

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with foreign currency preferred

· Oracle Payables and General Ledger experience preferred

· Experience with payables management of contracts preferred

· Experience in a development stage company and fast paced environment preferred.
