Accounting jobs: Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant requires the capacity to perform a variety of fiscal record keeping tasks and to become familiar with departmental procedures.​ Instructions or guidelines are specific and work may be reviewed during and upon completion.​



· Enter and maintain records of fiscal transaction in Deltek.​

· Checks and verifies such documents as invoices and timesheets, for accuracy of name, amount, and date.​ Contacts vendors/​project manager to correct errors. ​

· Answers correspondence, phone, and electronic mail concerning procedures or inquiries on the processing of payments.​

· Obtains information from various departments in order to maintain accurate accounts information

· Input data from forms, correspondence, reports, and other documents required from government agencies.​

· Establishes, maintains, and updates current records on accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee information files, and timesheets.​

· Gathers and collates records as requested to compile information; locates files or reports as requested by supervisor or others; processes, photocopies, and files documents and records as required for record keeping; purges files and records according to established accounting department standards.​

· Inputs payroll into Deltek in an accurate and timely manner.​

· Manages year-end cut-off processes for accounts payable.​

· Processes weekly account payable in an accurate and timely manner.​

· Provides reports as required by management.​

· Other general accounting duties as assigned.​

Qualifications:
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar profile is preferred.​
· Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with candidates and employees at all levels.​
· Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.​
· Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment.​
