Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller

Our firm has been engaged by an Electronics Components company in the San Jose area to search for an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller.

Duties:

 Manage General Ledger and all appropriate accounting entries Manage the General Ledger and ensure the account reconciliations are made in a timely and accurate manner Manage the month-end closing of Oracle A/R, A/P, F/A, and G/L modules Establish a month end closing calendar with the procedures to ensure timeliness of close Analyze the balance sheet and income statement accounts to explain and identify business reasons for variances Manage the cash reconciliation process, the review of control procedures, and the development of recommendations for process improvements to safeguard the liquid assets of the company Preparation of monthly financial package containing balance sheet, departmental income statements, cash flow, and budget vs. actual analysis Establish and maintain the internal control (SOX 404) policies and procedures; Develop corrective actions for any control deficiencies identified Organize and plan workload to ensure that objectives are met including daily, weekly, and monthly close activities Sales tax, property tax, annual audit, and tax schedules Will manage 2-3 direct reports

 

Requirements:

 MUST have worked for at least one pre-IPO company in order to help this company through their future IPO (delivery of records, etc)-IPO planned for Q4 2008 or Q1 2009 Must have industry experience (Mix of public accounting and industry is acceptable as well) SEC experience a must (does NOT have to have owned the process, just assisted), need to know the importance of being compliant Oracle 11i a MUST, not just one module, the complete package CPA highly preferred but not a must 10-12 years relative experience Public accounting is a plus with strong technical skills Strong presentation and communication skills, must be comfortable running meetings and presenting to Board members Exciting opportunity for progression and growth to be groomed for the Controllership
