Accounting Manager - $60K to $70K + benefits

Large distribution services organization located in Dearborn seeks Accounting Manager for its accounting team. Position will report to the Controller and have direct responsibility for managing a staff of 2 people.  This position is open due to growth of the company – we are a stable and high growth company.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·  Produce accurate internal financial statements on a timely basis for all subsidiaries.

·  Consolidation of multi-company financial statements.

·  Budgeting and analysis.

·  Coordinate the monthly closing process and create journal entries necessary to complete financial statements.

·  Reconcile/ review all bank accounts.

·  Reconcile and analyze all balance sheet account balances on a monthly basis.

·  Review and maintain all General Ledgers. Maintain trial balances on a monthly basis.

·  Maintain daily inventory report.

·  Document all policies and procedures developed by the accounting department.

·  Assist in development and maintenance of accounting measurables.

·  Close and rollover year-end balances in the General Ledger.

·  Assist coordination of annual audit.  Preparation of audit schedules as necessary.

·  Supervise clerical functions

·  Responsible for quality performance in area of authority.

 

Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) with accounting major

·  Must have 5+ years of accounting work with full understanding of balance sheet, income statement and cash flows along with full general ledger close experience.

·  MBA/CPA preferred

·  Supervisory experience needed – supervise 2 accounting staff

·  Strong analytical skills

·  SAP experience is highly preferred

·  Strong Microsoft Office experience (including strong Excel skills)

·  Audit work paper preparation

·  Experience in preparation of consolidated financial statements and other General Ledger knowledge.

This position will be a new position and therefore must be accustomed to working long hours for the first 6 months. Typical work week will be 45-50 hours per week while training and acclimating to the position.
