Accountant

Our client is seeking an Accountant who will perform the following duties:
* Perform monthly validations/reconciliations between the sub ledger and general ledger
* Prepare monthly and quarterly analysis for analytical reports
* Prepare journal entries
* Prepare quarterly footnotes including timely and accurate analysis
* Work with multiple groups across divisions such as Corporate, Internal Audit, Operations etc. while building strong relationships
* Research, resolve and document issues as they arise in daily or monthly tasks
* Support SOX documentation requirements
* Prepare ad-hoc requests when needed

The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
* Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
* Good understanding of basic GAAP accounting for mortgage back securities
* 3-5 years of professional experience
* Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and Access
* Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* CPA preferred
* Ability to work independently with limited guidance
* Experience with Access and Rapid SQL preferred
