The Assistant Director will provide assistance to the Payroll Manager in all aspects of departmental operations and will function as the Manager in the absence of the department head. Daily responsibilities include supervision of 10 clerical staff, collection and analysis of data needed to prepare Terminal Leave Payments for employees who leave or buy out annual leave, review of all additions and reductions to pay, accurate maintenance of employee time and leave records and collection and maintenance of all managerial employees’ timesheets. The Asst. Director researches, collates and reviews records for payroll audit and acts liaison between HHC Central Office Payroll and Coler-Goldwater payroll on audits, reconciliations and a variety of questions.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and strong payroll management experience for a NYC or NYS agency. We are able to provide a highly competitive salary + excellent benefits.
