ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Position Summary:  Responsible for day to day overall management of the Accounting Department and all services.

 

Essential Functions: Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Manage all accounting financial services, people, and reporting for emerging import/export business.

2. Liaison with Sales, Logistics, and forwarders to coordinate customer deposits, and release of funds to manufacturers.

3. Prepare all monthly journal entries for financial close, and review monthly financials for reporting.

4.  Responsible for reviewing and recording of all transactions in Accounting System.

5. Design reports in SAP for reporting purposes, and as needed for new profit centers.

6. Data Management of all billing information, including monthly EC vision Fulfillment system reconciliation with SAP.

7. Strong experience in working with meeting a monthly financial calendar for the period financial close.

8. Experience in managing an order entry and fulfillment function, inclusive of staff performing these duties.

9. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Skills Required:

1. CPA required.

2. Knowledge of GAAP, all general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounting processes; month end close of books, and good people skills. IFRS experience in international standards is a plus.

3. Strong background desired with previous or current company engaged in the Manufacturing sector and familiarity 

with the Import and Export process.

4. Skilled in supporting SAP or similar General Ledger Accounting packages for a growing business.

5. Strong skills in public reporting and business results analysis; strong analytical skills with attention to financial details.

6. Ability to manage staff of 4 to 5.

7. Good organizational and follow-up skills; team player.

8. Ability to set realistic deadlines and met them consistently.

9. Strong communication skills – written and oral.

 

Experience/Education Required:

1. At least three to Ten years Public and Private Accounting & Financial Reporting experience.

2. Previous public audit experience essential, with at least 3 years public, and 2 or more years of private experience as desirable.

3. QuickBooks and SAP Accounting Software experience desired, but not essential.

4. Experience with online transactions and payments.

5. CPA required.

6. Accounting Undergraduate Degree.
