AR Accounting - Vice President

BlackRock's infrastructure groups encompass a myriad of essential corporate functions that support every BlackRock employee and client, and every aspect of the firm's business. The Finance team is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, measurement and control of the financial resources of BlackRock and its subsidiaries. The Finance Group is comprised of three units: Accounting Policy and Controls, Business Finance and Corporate Controllers. General functions include financial accounting, financial reporting, management accounting, treasury, tax, compensation/payroll accounting, auditing and certain other compliance functions.



We are actively searching for a Vice President of General Accounting. Ideal candidate will be responsible for the supervision of one overseeing selected day to day responsibilities of the general accounting group at BlackRock. Responsibilities include closing of books and reconciliation of certain accounts.



Candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical and pro-active with respect to identifying and implementing process change in order to obtain increased accuracy, internal controls and greater efficiencies. Additionally, candidate should be able to flourish in an extremely fast-paced and growing environment.



Responsibilities:



* Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close of books of accounts

* Record and monitor accruals for certain accounts

* Review monthly balance sheet reconciliation for selected accounts

* Conduct variance analysis for balance sheet and income statements

* Liaise with internal and external auditors

* May supervise a staff of 2 or 3 people

* Special projects as they occur.





Requirements:



* CPA is a must

* 5-8 years of related experience in a publicly traded, multi-entity environment.

* ??Big 4?? public accounting experience a strong plus.

* Excellent accounting operations and GAAP skills. Knowledge of SOX process helpful.

* Current and previous supervisory experience required.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact with senior professionals throughout the firm.

* Ability to work successfully under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

* Self-starter, independent worker and ability to make sound and timely decisions.

* Ability to manage a variety of complex tasks simultaneously.
